Iranian President Ahmadinejad recently stated that he had instructed the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to prepare for the production of 19.75% enriched uranium in order to produce fuel for the Tehran Research Reactor should the IAEA brokered fuel swap deal fail to take place. Following Ahmadinejad’s statements were those of Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the AEOI, who stated that Iran would also build ten new enrichment facilities as part of its nuclear program.
