ISIS Report on Iran’s Illicit Procurement Activities‏

May 21, 2009
ISIS has been tracking Iranian attempts to illicitly procure high quality parts and materials for its military and nuclear complex. Two case studies were released today that illustrate and analyze Iranian attempts to illicitly procure aircraft components from U.S. companies by using false end user information and foreign trading companies.
The two cases studies show that efforts by the United States and other exporters of military goods to prevent trade in dual use or sensitive technology continue to be thwarted by determined proliferators.
See the report on Iran’s Procurement of U.S. Military Aircraft Parts: Two case studies in illicit trade for the complete studies and an analysis of the systemic problems that allow for this issue to persist.
